My Voice Experience

I have a lot of experience working for many different producers who all want different sounds and have even more different ways of describing what it is they are looking for; so I have become very good at listening and being able to interpret their direction into sound expression that captures the essence and intent of the project, yet still maintains the feel of real life spontaneity. I am very adept at manipulating my voice in many ways to create an atmosphere and mood. The majority of my experience comes from recording music, which has proven to be quite beneficial to me since I started doing voice-overs. I once recorded a voice-over for a video with two other voice over actors. Each of them were surprised I was able to complete my monologue in one take; but with so much experience in a recording studio behind a microphone, I've been able to really learn the intricacies of my voice.

My Training

Graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts(Bachelor of Fine Arts). Studied at the Stella Adler Acting Conservatory which included extensive speech and vocal training for classical, Shakespearean and contemporary styles. Studies at the Stonestreet Film and Television Studio included specific focuses on commercial acting and voiceovers. Trained with Joan Baker (author of the recently published book 'Secrets of Voice-Over Success: Top Voice-Over Actors Reveal How They Did It') and Jeannette LoVetri who developed the first programs of Vocal Pedagogy (how to teach singing) for university instructors, based on voice science and medicine, and is a forerunner in medical, clinical and scientific research on all styles of contemporary commercial music.

Additional Skills

After graduating college I began to get more involved in music which had been only a hobby for me growing up. I’ve had several records released since my first one two years ago. Last summer I was a finalist in a VH1 songwriting competition. My upcoming single will be released in the next couple of months. I am currently recording new music and song writing for other artists.
