Voice Description

Executive. Operator. Mommy. Girl Next Door. Desperate Housewife. Princess. Even Christmas Elf.

These are just a few of the voices you'll find in my vocal repertoire. My classic voice is perfect for a wide variety of projects, ranging from telephone answering services, professional presentations, character recordings and more.

I have a background in vocal music and my speaking voice is very melodious. Not too high, not too low, but the perfect desperate housewife-next-door voice, featuring just the right amount of inflection and intonation. (No bland monotone here!)

I can draw on my acting background to convey a variety of emotions and expressions: happy and bubbly, sad and depressed, angry and more. And as a mother of two children, I have perfected the "because mommy said so, that's why!" voice!

If you are looking for the perfect phone voice, then look no further -- I'm your gal! If I had a nickel for every time I answered the phone and someone told me they thought I was the answering service, I would be one rich woman.

Although I am not an impersonator, I can do a variety of character voices, including a Betty Boop-style voice, high-pitched Christmas elf, scary vampira voice and more. I'm not afraid to try something new and silly.

I am also a trained singer, singing soprano or mezzo-soprano. My vocal qualities have been compared to an American Julie Andrews and my strongest style is Broadway musicals and showtunes. I can be a belter when the situation calls for it, but I can also be silly and sing-songy if required. (Rock and roll is probably my weakest genre.)

Having grown up in Nebraska and Colorado, I have no detectable accent or dialect in my normal speaking voice. I have excellent diction and very good grammar. (My mother is an English teacher!) I have not been formally trained in accents or dialects, but can do a fair English accent or general European accent. I spent some time in North Carolina and can do an outstanding southern drawl, either sweet and refined (think Scarlett O'Hara) or more low-country "hick" style (ala a female Jeff Foxworthy).

My Voice Experience

I have been acting and singing for as long as I can remember. I've performed in more than 30 plays and musicals, having leading roles in Music Man, Sound of Music and more. My English accent was featured while playing Mrs. Bumble in Oliver. My husband and I have produced three music CDs featuring my singing talent. Although this is my first attempt at doing voice overs professionally, I have recorded phone recordings for professional offices several times. I have a degree in Communications Arts and have some experience on the technical end of recording and producing television shows, commercials and more.

My Training

I received theater training from a professional actor from the time I was 13 until I graduated from high school. Following high school, I attended a school known for its outstanding theater program, where I studied communication arts, drama, music and marketing. I have had key roles in more than 30 theatrical productions. While my career followed the marketing aspect of my education, I would now like to explore the possibilities of getting into acting once again.

Not long ago, I realized that if I could go back and do it all again, I would be a voice actor. Now, Voice123 has given me that chance!

I have always imagined myself to be the perfect candidate for the next Disney Princess movie! I have a sweet voice with lots of musical qualities. My singing voice is sweet and well-trained, but without too much vibrato or "bravado" that can sometimes ruin a song. My voice is simple and pure, but rich and refined at the same time.

As a 30-year-old white woman, I can be the voice of a wide range of ages -- from young adults, to college students, to 20-somethings, 30-40 somethings and even older.

Because my career for the past 12 years has been in the field of marketing, I understand the importance of getting the right person for your project. I believe in getting things done quickly and efficiently -- after all, most projects needed to be done yesterday!
