My Voice Experience

My career in VO began in 1994 while I was interning as a student of Bennett College for the urban radio market in Greensboro, NC. The experience left such a lasting impression on me, I have since regarded it as one of my career high points in entertainment. Although I consider myself stumbling-upon this career, I feel it is a career that stumbled upon ME!
Back to the story, my then Program Director would compliment my speaking voice stating that the company could better use my natural skills and talents for voice over, rather than just laboring with all the typical-inetern 'grunt work' for a radio station. He pointed out I could be useful live on-air introducing the next songs on playlist or for in-studio recording on commercial. On my first project, I played the voice role of an urban-girl with attitude, and 'I NAILED IT'. I was surprised to see that this field is NOT necessarily EASY, it takes patience, concentration and dedication. Other projects included voice of Mom, party-goer, concert enthusiast and business professional to name a few. I would regularly write or edit the copy material as needed. I later began work as on-air talent. My smooth-raspy in-control voice lended to attracting a more mature audience during evening segments.
Since that time, I have continued forging ahead in my dreams to take the entertainment world by storm! I have been working in corporate America, until recently in 2008, for Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc. in Atlanta, GA.

I have well over 10+ years experience/skills in event management, organizational facilitation and leadership. I have led professional teams via developing various print materials in customer service, problem-solving and leadership training for Srategic Solutions Inc. in Detroit MI.
I most recently am an events coordinator, coordinating team events, games/activities throughout the Atlanta Area.
