My Voice Experience
While I performed at school (singing & acting on stage), upon graduating from college my career began & has always remained in a business sales capacity.
I have primarily worked in the high-tech world of I.T. (information technology) starting out in technical training and then 11 years ago I started my own business as a Technical Recruiter.
Without ever realizing there was a whole world of voice-over until recently, I have been invited to be the voice for various company's radio or TV commercials, or for their voice mail systems. Last year I began to investigate the voice-over field as a profession and signed up for classes with The Great Voice Company in New York, and subsequently cut my first (2) demos for Commercials & Narrations.
I believe that my experience working with so many corporations internationally, will especially give me the edge for Narrations or documentaries or on-hold projects and the like. Having lived in the States for 14 years, my British accent has become Americanized, and with family in the Middle east and Far east as well as in Europe, my accent is more of a blending of several countries!
However I thoroughly enjoy all the voice-over projects I've been a part of, and feel I'm a versatile candidate for most projects.
My Training
My college degrees were not in voice over or acting (maths & statistics, government & politics) but I have recently taken classes with The Great Voice company in New York to learn more about this craft, and the whole voice over business in general.
In school I sang and acted on stage, but my career has always centered around technical sales and dealing with executives/directors of all types and sizes of corporations.
Since beginning my voice-over career from a professional standpoint this past year, I am addicted to practicing and perfecting this art!
