My Training

1-1 training in voice-over basics from a top reporter in a large market newsroom, periodic work with voice coaches, and history of seeking and applying constructive criticism for the purpose of improving my work.

My Studio Equipment

I do most of my recording directly onto DV, so that I can control the acoustic qualities of the recording environment naturally - outdoors, echo of larger rooms, or more common sound-deadening typical of most audio studios.

The resulting audio is then transferred to and edited on computer using Pinnacle Studio for easy access to sound effects, de-essing, etc. as well as pinpoint precision when necessary to split or join takes.

The resulting file is then converted to .mp3 using Razorlame mp3 encoder.

Although I use a simple setup, it works well and is versatile. I care about getting you the best possible quality and am very picky about getting it right.

Additional Skills

Good editing skills, strong musical background and tendency to naturally mimic different accents and dialects.

Musical background with good musical ear and decent though non-professional singing voice.

Strong technical background and broad life experiences makes me an ideal candidate for recording technical material and anything else sufficiently out of the mainstream to be challenging for other recording artists. It is easy enough for me to be naturally authoritative that I can readily layer in other voice characteristics, including playfulness, sexiness, real, feigned or over-the-top authority, real or mock or overly seriousness, even bumbling!
