I have always done voice-overs for companies I have worked for. I was a regular voice for a local Capital District publishing company at their sales meetings - recording songs and skits. In college I was a regular guest on the college radio station (I had several friends who were college DJ's) and I also completed a communications internship with a local radio station as a field reporter. If you are familiar with Java Joel Murphy, I was roommates with his sister in Potsdam, NY and he made my voice famous on his local show by recording me saying "Who do I have to sleep with down there to win a prize?!!!!" (Thanks, I wrote that myself. Perhaps I should add copywriting to my skill list.)
In September of 2010, I walked out of Penn Station in New York City and into a waiting cab and ended up in a Jet Blue Commercial. You can view the link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyEX25bJYBo. I am the redhead in the blue jacket (the one who gives "the look") By the way, that's my voice they end the commercial with. After this ad aired (it has aired nationally), I was pushed by many friends and colleagues to take a second look at my skill set. So here I am
I have a BA in English and Communications from The State University of New York, Potsdam. I was formally trained at Voice Coaches in Albany, NY. As I mentioned earlier, I have also done field reporting. By trade, I am a fundraiser in the Albany, NY area. I am very comfortable in public speaking situations and am very talented in improvisation. I am also a natural comedian.
As a fundraiser I am used to public interaction, intimidating situations (I mean, can you imagine asking for money in this economy?!), and knowing how to say the right thing at the exact right time. Additionally, I have a very outgoing personality that lends itself well to interaction and positive results. I am an excellent listener and am not afraid to take risks or try new things. I have served as a paralegal, a financial account manager for a donor advised fund, and a fundraiser. So to say that I am comfortable with difficult situations, people or even language, would be an understatement.
