My Voice Experience

I am just starting out in my voice over career. I have been told by various people, both industry and not, that I should get involved in a voice over career, so decided to make it happen! I am very happy with my demo and I feel like it gives a great example of who I am. Though not professional, I was recently asked to re-do the prompts on the phone at my restaurant job because "you have the best voice out of everyone here." I am so excited to get this career going, and to steal from the Chuck Jones Voice and Speech book title, make my voice heard!

My Training

I have a B.F.A from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. My primary studio was Playwright's Horizons Theater School. From my years there I have extensive and solid theater training. I studied Acting with a focus in Musical Theater. I also studied Voice and Speech and hold a thorough voice warm up under my belt!

I recently took a voice over class with David Lawrence, where I began to learn the types voice overs that would suit me, and became comfortable the equipment used to create voice overs.

Additional Skills

In addition to my acting career, I spent some years in theater marketing for The Public Theater in New York City. Here I learned the basics of theater marketing, how to get butts in seats, and the ins and outs of placing an ad in the New York Times! I ended my career there as the Associate Director of Marketing, when I decided it was time to move on and start marketing myself! In addition to marketing at The Public, I also worked on various educational programs, and have extended my theater education mission to the west coast, where I am a Teaching Artist for the Pasadena Playhouse. From my constant interaction with people, especially high school students, I have increased my communication skills and my ability to gather attention just from speaking.
