Voice Description
My general "announcing" voice sounds very sincere and upbeat. I generally sound like I'm having a good time doing the voiceover and, subsequently, make the subject of the voiceover very desirable. I've also done many serious PSAs, sentimental radio spots, and have managed an array of character voices to fit in with clients' needs. I'm comfortable with a few English accents and a German accent and would be happy to try to mimic any others upon request.

My Voice Experience
I am the Production Director at a Boston area FM radio station. I've been on the radio throughout New England promoting concerts, restaurants, car dealers, home decorating stores, jewelry stores, and dozens of other places I won't waste your time with. Having to cope, at my own radio station, with my voice coming up repeatedly when the commercials are playing, I've developed many different deliveries and character voices to avoid hearing "just Kevin" back to back. I've been everything from a German Oktoberfest promoter to a whispering guy letting you in on a good deal, from a Roman galley ship's crew (both slave driver AND oarsmen - I LOVE digital editing) to a son talking with his dad about hospice care. I've done plenty of on hold messages, voice over recordings, radio voice work, and voicemail greetings and have also directed and been featured in voice acting radio dramas. I have also done some voiceover work for cable.
My Training
First and foremost, I have an Associate of Science Degree in Radio Broadcasting. While attaining that, I took classes in Vocal Acting, Voice Over Work, and Radio Production.
I do voice over work for several radio stations on an almost daily basis and always include the clients in the decision making. While I never present the work until it sounds good, sometimes, it has to sound "just right", too.
I've always wanted to act and work with my voice. I've done high school, college, and community theater.
My Studio Equipment
Monday through Friday I record in a professional studio speaking into an RE20 ElectroVoice mic, through an Arrakis board and am recorded by Adobe Audition 2.0.
Additional Skills
With both a theater and radio background, I approach each project with an eye for marketability as well as the desire to connect with the listener on a personal level. The staunchest announcer or the silliest character both still have to be relatable to both the listener and the subject, otherwise, we're just talking AT the listener and are missing an opportunity to become part of their lives.
