I started doing the phone voice over work for my day job at a performing arts hall. I am very good in a booth cold reading and do one takes well.
I expanded to do the annual voice over to the hall's 15-20 minute season video highlighting our upcoming season and dropping in commercials for sponsors, the Center and narration on our history.
Now I do all the voice overs for the Center including all commercial voice over work for any radio spots, averaging 10 spots a season.
Voice Training
Started with professional voice training in 1983 for singing. Played lead role in all four High School musical productions. Started voice for opera after being selected to All Northwest Choir in 1985. Started college in opera, performed in recitals, starred in on stage performances before changing majors to journalism.
Started voice training again in 2003. Worked with a video production firm in the booth. Very familiar and comfortable with mics, levels, earphones and soundboards.
Currently work in performing arts hall. Comfortable on stage for opening announcments, speaking assignments, tours, classes.
Also; comfortable in radio recording.
