I directed voiceovers for close to 8 years before I said, "Hey, I can do that!" Since then, I've done everything from 20-minute sales tapes to on-hold messages to voicemail greetings to DR spots on radio and TV.
My training was on-the-job. I was a Broadcast Communications major in a school with the worst Communications program in the world, and no voice acting instruction at all. I began as a newscaster with a comedy news show that almost got me expelled from college; after that I learned OTJ by directing some of the best voice talent in the biz.
I am a professional writer, and have been for nearly 30 years. So, if you need someone who can not only lay down the spot but write it as well, I'm faster than anyone better, and better than anyone faster. Also, as a multi-faceted athlete (swimming, karate, baseball, water polo, raquetball, kayaking, more) I can add a unique insight to sports documentaries or instructional videos, etc.
