Voice Description

My style of presentation is relaxed and friendly. I like to develop a natural and personal contact with a listening audience. I am at my best when talking to listeners directly, either at live broadcasts or during interviews and phone-ins.
I have a rich and mellow voice, which has an individual characteristic that even I cannot describe. Often people comment on my tonal quality and I am easily recognised by the sound of my voice ‘off mic’.
I am intelligent and capable of functioning using my own initiative. Off air I speak quietly. One of my main programming strengths is an ability to think on my feet and interact with the public, an ability honed I suspect from years of experience with live audiences.

Position Senior Lecturer/Industrial Liaison Coordinator The School of Media and Creative Arts/ Head of Graphic Design/Programme Manager HND Antiques and Collections Management and Graphic Design.

• Educational: I teach Design, Media Studies and Radio Skills. I supervise the structure, origination, delivery and daily operation of full and part-time design education. I am responsible for the development and introduction of educational initiatives having written and presented course submissions for EDEXCEL/BTEC HND, HNC, and National educational programmes. As a Lecturer and design IT professional I develop teaching programmes for Typography and Graphic Design using industry standard software, namely Quark XPress and Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Word. I teach a wide range of subjects including IT; Typography; Graphic Design; Business Studies, Marketing and Radio Skills Presentation.
• Administrative: I have responsibility for resourcing, staffing, developing strategies, and organising annual and day-to-day management of students and staff. I structure timetables, and implement quality assurance programmes. I manage computer and operating systems integration.
• Marketing: I recently achieved two awards for organizing the colleges Open Day events. I organise public exhibitions of student design work, produce painted wall murals and market the college in the community. I am responsible for securing support from Apple Computer.
• Professional: A founder and Board member of the local North East Hampshire Young Enterprise Board where I am a Link Teacher.
• Voluntary: Volunteer Room Steward for The National Trust.
