Voice Description
As briefly described above my voice is both upbeat, energized open and friendly. My voice lends its self to corporate work. For narrations that require an "African" and Caribbean accents I can add a deep and resonating tone. A calm and sensitive tone I have used for specific charity related voice-work. Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
London (esp. Cockney), "Queens English" accent which has lent itself to radio commercials. Jamaican (Patios) accent which was used for a narration of a play linked to the police service. (Queens) New York accent which I used for an voice-over for a new jazz infused record label. A deep American accent was used for a games industry voice-over in the UK. The "African" accent I have used for various online educational projects. Male 30's British African, cool, streetwise. A natural clear accent was used for an interactive furniture company in the UK. I have a good ear also for "African" particularly South African and (Igbo)Nigerian.
My Voice Experience
I started doing voice-over work by "default" in 1999 when a friend of mine said "Kenny you have to use that voice of yours it sounds so posh". So I seized an opportunity whilst at University in Manchester (1999), I auditioned for a voice over work for a Ugandan HIV aids awareness project which was aired in parts of Uganda. I then moved back to Nottingham and did some voluntary work for BBC East Midlands and BBC Radio Nottingham for 2 years and in that time was asked to do voice-overs on projects to do with teaching and campaigns to do with education. I had a break for a while and then met a music producer in 2001 who wanted to use my voice for skills for corporate clients like Audi, retail shops such as Birmingham's Mailbox and The Pavillion. Also following this another friend who owned his online magazine wanted some voice-overs for his interactive website and martial arts academy. At the same time a new radio station was being launched in Nottingham and I decided to drop my voice demo off at the radio station. I did a range of radio adverts and received calls from a recording studio who had met me a year ago and needed an voice-over actor for some educational websites.Since then I have been developing new material for potential auditions and have a freelance agent in London, but this allows me to do other work with great organisations such as Voice 123.

The session also included various voice techniques required for announcements, narrations and trailers.

Additional Skills
In my spare time I write scripts for radio stations and businesses who require voice-over work. In addition, I teach Business Studies to permanently excluded students (13-15). I often utilise my voice-over work during topics on advertising within business. I have worked on a diverse range of voice-over related projects, as outlined in earlier in this application. I am British Born of Nigerian descent so culturally I have utilised this asset in the voice-related projects which I have undertaken. I have a close friend who is a music producer and has his own music studio equipment, from where I have recorded voice work for his business. I wish to enhance my skills both nationally and internationally as this is where I see my future in the exciting world of voice-work!!
