Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I grew up and lived for many years in Chicago, so I can do a variety of urban ethnic accents, including African-American, Greek, some southern U.S. I also am able to do humorous variations on these characters, and can pick up other ethnic accents quickly and as needed. Since I moved to Colorado, I've done voice-overs for some industrial films.
My Voice Experience
I'm a professional musician and vocalist. I performed singing vocals and voice-overs for Nissan, WGN-TV in Chicago, Northwest Airlines, and did demo auditions for a variety of clients. I worked with the noted commercial and Grammy award winning producer Jim Tullio, and have a glowing letter of recommendation from him, which I can e-mail if requested.
My Training
I attended DePaul University School of Music, and left prior to graduation to tour as a blues musician for thirty years. I have a great deal of studio experience, and to clarify my union status, I am currently an on-leave inactive member of AFTRA, so I can do non-union spots but can reactivate my union status if needed.
My Studio Equipment
I use a Shure KSM27 microphone, as I like the way my voice sounds with it. I record with a MOTU interface into a custom PC using Cakewalk Sonar. I also have a collection of music ranging from blues to rock to jazz to classical for background. Additionally, I use a Roland FP7 piano keyboard, which has a variety of stored samples including sound effects.
Additional Skills
I am a very quick study, can convincingly cover a range of emotions, and have a worldliness due to the odd blend of education and years on the road touring with blues bands. I am also very easy to work with and am willing to do what I must to please the client and get the job done.
