I've worked in broadcasting since 1987. What I learned in broadcasting over the years is not to sound like the classic announcer, but rather a real person. Ensure that the listener feels you are talking to them as an individual. My list of formats covers everything from top 40, classic country, easy listening, adult contemporary, modern rock and morning talk radio. I voice tracked a weekly oldies show, complete with contests. I mention this because of the difference in presentation I'm capable of offering.
I take as many webinars and classes as I can find availabe. In addition to college where I took public speaking classes, I had voice lessons in my youth and acted in school.

Having been in the broadcast field, I understand the need to ensure that a :30 or :60 spot needs to be timed correctly. I've done voiceovers for jingle packages as well. Even in other fields of employment, I have been designated as a contact person because I speak well and make people feel comfortable quickly. I worked in the medical field for years as a tech, I'm still familiar with the lingo. I've spent years balancing budgets and managing personnel, giving me the opportunity to work with multiple personality types and finding ways to communicate with them so that they will respond with a positive attitude. I'm fairly computer savvy, build my own computers and manage a network. I've worked with quite a few different audio recording software packages. I can write commercial script if the need arises.
