Voice Description
Vocally, my long suit is warm, friendly one to one communication. I love to tell stories. This can be useful for direct, but low key commercial delivery, and for long form narrations. You will also find me useful when you need an authoritative direct communicator for industrial and instructional projects. My voice quality is reasonably low, smooth and resonant, yet I can crank the intensity to deliver a lot of copy with excitement in tight time constraints. I have been described as pleasant, a good quality for phone greetings and on-hold messages. I can sell a positioning statement for your Radio station, but am also able to tug at your emotions with copy about the human condition. I call it auditory eye contact You can trust me to look your listeners in the eye and talk with them!

My Voice Experience
Radio and the spoken word captured my imagination very early in life, and by the time I was a sophomore in college, I had no choice, but to try it for myself. Now, some 30 + years later, I am still in the industry, and enjoy being voice talent more than ever. Some of my experience has included doing a daily radio show in various formats from personality MOR (in the 70s when I was chosen Small Market Personality of the Year by Billboard magazine) to Rock, Easy Listening, and Adult Contemporary (in the 80s), to a little Country and some 60s and 70s based Oldies (in the 90s) Ive worked all dayparts from mornings to night shifts, and for several years have been an operations manager for a successful Smooth Jazz station. This experience and the contacts made have led to voiceover work for TV ads, Industrial films, corporate presentations, instructional cassettes, as well as telephone greetings and on-hold messages. I have also voiced inspirational messages for a Church phone system and enjoyed the privilege of narrating Casey at the Bat with Newton Wayland and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra.
My Training
The bulk of my experience as a voiceover artist has been in the production studio of various radio stations. Radio production, known for merciless deadlines and demanding clients has been an arena where I have been successful at satisfying both clients and employers. This work in the structured:30 and :60 world of radio opened the door for other long form projects for area corporations, freelance writers and ad agencies looking for professional voice talent. My radio career has included news writing, and as a program director and Operations Manager, I have been writing and producing the bulk of our stations promo material. These opportunities have honed my skills and my appreciation for good copy. I find nothing more satisfying than to take quality copy and make it live for the producer. I am familiar with Adobe Auditon since I use it both at work and in my home studio. I am open to producing full production or voiceovers for use in your final production.

Additional Skills
My experience with radio drama or voice acting other than dialogue type spots for some radio clients has been limited, but I am a good communicator and would welcome the opportunity to read for any parts and participate in any voice acting jobs that present themselves. I am also well suited for long form narrations, both industrial and educational. This would include books on tape. I have also done a good deal of editing/splicing of audio, and can edit custom music backgrounds for voiceovers, and concert and music spots, if you have the clearance for the music use.
