My Voice Experience
I was a TV news reporter and anchor doing daily voice-overs for around a decade. I still do freelance voice-overs for news stations. I also host a regular webcast and radio show for Health Talk communications dealing with cancer and other health issues where I routinely interview doctors, patients and other experts. I also occasionally host a Seattle-based television magazine show called "City Stream."
I do voice-overs for companies like Microsoft, clients such as environmental real estate developers, corporations that need training videos or explanations of technical products, some radio commercials, environmental clients, fundraising videos, etc.
My Training
Boston University and University of Washington. Double Major: Broadcast Journalism, Political Science with Honors.
I worked in TV news in these markets: Klamath Falls, Medford, Eugene and Portland, Oregon as well as Seattle Washington. I also worked overseas in Denmark where I did voice-overs in English for European clients -- and do retain some of my Danish skills.
Throughout high school, I was involved in choirs and did solo performances but haven't done much singing since college.
I now own a video production company where I routinely do voice-overs for varied client projects.
My Studio Equipment
We have several professional microphones. The one we like to use specifically for voice-overs is a Sennheiser with an attenuator.
All VO's are then fed into a mixer that is piped into a Macintosh computer running Final Cut Pro Studio. We specifically use Soundtrack Pro to record and sweeten our audio.
From there we export out whatever kind of audio format a client needs and post that to an FTP, burn it to a disc, a hard drive, etc.
Additional Skills
I've been doing voice-over work for nearly 20 years and know how to deliver a professional product.
