Voice Description
My vocal talent is very diverse in tone, presence, and structure. For narrations, my vocal characheristics vary according to subject matter, character representation, and target audience. For commercials, my primary vocal approach is a deeper tone, with expressive nuances and a bold, authoritative attack. For a more subtle audience, I can step up my tone and add a more jovial nuance. For professional presentations, I use a medium tone with alternations between authoritative and jovial nuance to maintain a professional yet lively narrative. My presentation voice talent puts primary emphasis on annunciation. For movie, music and television trailers, my vocal characterization is expressive and bold, with the ability to adjust my vocal tone and emotion to reflect the subject matter of the production.
I speak American English. I have a wide range of dialects I can mimic, offering a great range of voice characterizations I can achieve. My most distinct dialects include: Aussie, Cajun, deep South ("redneck"), pseudo Irish/Scot, English (proper/gentleman). My most noteworthy characterizations include: young adult/adult Irish countryman, middle-aged English gentleman, raspy middle-aged Old West character, adult male Aussie (rural), overly-annunciating middle-aged male intellectual, gruff military commander, old school radio disck jockey.

My Voice Experience
Everyone has to start somewhere. And for me, that start was as an annoying little kid who loved to do impressions of cartoon characters and make vocal sound effects. I started recording my "noise" as a teen making musical 'mix' cassette and CD compilations where I intro'ed songs like a DJ. I put my vocal talents to professional use with minor narrrative and characterization snippets for a couple of PC-based training presentations for Information Development, Inc. of Houston back in 1998.
From December 2001 to January 2003, and again from January 2004 to August 2005, I moonlighted as a travelling DJ/Karaoke show, where I gained most of my early vocal and live announcer experience. I also learned the value of voice characterization in a one-man show.
From October 2006 to the present, I have been producing a web-based indie music broadcast, providing all of the announcements, station ID bites, and characterizations used to date.
My Training
I have no formal vocal training, either in song or oration. I simply have personal and some professional experience.

Additional Skills
My personality can be playfully theatrical. I have been known for my numerous voice talents among family, friends and co-workers for years. I have only in recent years gained the confidence to consider my voice as a professional tool. I am also an avid reader/writer who takes keen pride in annunciation, grammar and phonetics. While my experience is pretty limited, my early projects were at the behest of co-workers and supervisors. My professional associates have admired my commanding and fluent, yet sincere narrative/announcing voice. My family has enjoyed my soft and expressive storytelling voice. My children love my Yoda and Jar-Jar Binks impersonations, and my audiences have raved at my announcer/EmCee/DJ vocals.
Oh, and I still catch myself making vocal sound effects when I'm bored or daydreaming!
