Voice Description

My voice skills are well-developed, and are quite versatile....I'm great at doing various accents( i.e., britsh, indian, french, spanish, russian, irish, scotish, australian, kanuck french, southern US., SW US, etc.). It is easy, natural and fun for me to adapt my voice to any kind of audio need....narrations, commercials, presentations, documentaries...My voice is very expressive and quite theatrical, in a storytelling kind of way....It carries a wonderful energy....in that it has a powerful effect on the listener. This may come, in part, from my being, among other things, a yoga teacher of many years. Students find my voice very soothing, grounding,and inspiring. I know how to really get underneath, of behind, of into the words that I am saying, bringing them to life, so to speak. People really like my singing voice as well. I have perfect pitch, can harmonize easily, and can understand various rhythms and arrangements. I'm as comfortable in the roll of corporate professional, as I am being in Nature, or pretty much any other environment.

Some of the accents that I can do very well, are: japanese, chinese, thai, mexican, spanish, italian, french (both Parisian, and Canadian, native american, indian, british, all US dialects, russian, australian, african,hillbilly, New York City, Bostonian, Maine Ayuh!, lobstah), Vermont (nope, yup), Southern belle, aristocratic, pioneers,any age bracket or gender, any emotion, and more etc.

My Voice Experience

I've never done a voice over, and am very much looking forward to being given my first chance to do some ! However, my work as a yoga instructor, bodyworker, doula, and rawfood educator, require the use of my voice extensively. My voice is one of my best tools for doing my work with ! I love using my voice, and people comment positively on it frequently.

My Training

I graduated from Cony High School in Augusta, Maine, in the top ten percent of my class, went on to Smith College, and also spent time at Princeton University, and Trinity College (Hartford, CT). After college, I went to body work school, and took many intensive trainings to become a yoga instructor, rawfood diet and lifestyle chef and educator, massage therapist, biodynamic craniosacral therapy practitioner, doula, etc. I am very musical, sing, and play a large number of musical instruments, including piano and guitar. I recently was the guest on a half hour TV program called 142 Main St., airing on Nashua,NH chanel WYCN TV at Thanksgiving time.

My Studio Equipment

I own a Lamda recording device, a high quality microphone and stand, and computer to record onto. I will be getting another microphone.
