I basically try and analyze the copy and let it dictate the correct feel for the piece. The majority of the work I have done is warm, natural or authoritative in tone, I can have a lot of smile in the voice if need be, I love doing sexy because it is so opposite of how I act in real life - I always feel dorky, never really feel sexy, but I can sound like it! - and I'm an actress, so I love doing character work.

My Voice Experience

2006 & 2007 NY EMMY AWARD NOMINEE

I do the narration for a half hour documentary series entitled BLUEPRINT for cable channel 25/74 on NYC TV which highlights various New York City Landmarks. I have been nominated for two EMMY Awards, last year and this year for my narration on this show. I absolutely LOVE narration and audio books on tape. I love long copy, I excel at the cold read, and have really learned to just organically let the copy speak. I also love character work. Everything about this job is amazingly fun for me, and I welcome each new challenge, however big or small it may be, just out of the sheer joy of doing it.

My Training

I was first introduced to the art of voiceover in Tokyo, Japan - I worked for Tokyo Disney and did some voiceover work for the park, then started doing English Language tapes for students as well as listening exams. When I came to New York, I started coaching with Marla Kirban, a voiceover agent from LA who relocated here to New York and was a perfect fit for me. I also coach with Robin Miles, who has done over 125 audio books on tape and can do any dialect on the planet - I think she is brilliant. I've been studying, and working in the industry for 8 years now.

My Studio Equipment

I just recently purchased a MAC computer and am getting to work on hooking up my own private studio. I can't wait to record for hours!!!

Additional Skills

I originally came to New York to do Musical Theatre. I am a strong singer and have a strong acting background. I also have a business degree, and have held a million survival jobs that give me incredible amounts of experience in various industries - I've worked in hospitals, health clubs, hair salons, retail, I've worked for the city (water dept), for computer companies, I've been a bartender and waiter, a secretary for numerous businesses - the longest stint at 3M Media, and I am now a licensed real estate agent. Trust me - I've probably been around the block enough to know a little about your product!!!
