Voice Description

I have a forceful, feminine alto voice with an edge of sibilance. I can make my voice warm and deep for narrations and commercials. My voice can also be sexy, playful, and older or younger depending on the job at hand. I can make my voice crisper in order to portray a young girl or boy, and broader and huskier to portray an older woman. I can speak with both a high-brow and low-brow British accent. I speak Spanish, and though I am not fluent, could read Spanish text without error.

I do a very fine impersonation of a cat (available upon request).

My Voice Experience

I have no voice acting experience.

My Training

I have been taking dance, voice and acting lessons all my life, and in 2002 I took Acting I and II classes with staff from the Asolo theatre in Sarasota.

From August 2005-May 2006, I was an active member of the New College chorus.

I attended workshops at the Florida Storytelling Camp for several years concurrent.

I have had seven years of traning in Spanish.

I have worked as a workshop leader for a college-level poetry course, which required me to exercise my skills in pronunciation, projection, and pace.

Additional Skills

I do have experience in acting, singing and storytelling. My most recent acting roles (in Spring of 2006) were performing in the 15-minute Hamlet as Horatio/Laertes and in the 20-minute Titus Andronicus as Aaron/Lavinia. At around the same time, I performed the monologue "The vagina Workshop" (using a British accent)in The Vagina Monologues.

I have been singing folk ballads a capella before local audiences for the past 10 years.

I worked as an Assistant editor of the New CollAge literary magazine, where one of my main functions was to locate and contact magazine contributors.
