My Voice Experience

My voice career began on Radio 4 in Classic Serials such as Lorna Doone and Mansfield Park, having been picked up as a talent for producing child voices.

I appeared as an alien in Blake's 7 - The Sevenfold Crown.

I worked at Pebble Mill regularly doing ADR for Dalziel and Pascoe and Dangerfield. On a number of occasions being asked to voice-over entire characters.

Filipino and Portugese accents are now on my list having been requested to perform them both for a Radio 5 documentary at extremely short notice.

The Sound and Picture House in Birmingham were attracted to my voice as they considered it to be rare in its quality of appealing to any gender and generation. They employed me for countless Radio Commercials over a two year period.

Corporate voice-overs have been a staple for the past 15 years and I am often asked to get to grips with very technical jargon - this has always been an enjoyable and successful challenge.

Recently I have been involved in a couple of Doctor who projects both as a narrator and playing characters.

My Studio Equipment

I use a UX1 USB audio interface linked up to my Macbook Pro.

The microphones I use vary according to the quality required. I currently own a Shure SM58 which I find more useful for live stage work but can produce an acceptable recording quality. I often hire a Neuman U87 studio condenser, and I am about to purchase a Snowball/TW USB mic.

I edit and record onto Garageband.

I am constantly looking to develop my technical knowledge and equipment.

Additional Skills

I am a singer with a sizeable range of styles. Being well-trained classically means that in addition to providing pop, jazz and opera, my vocals (singing and speech) are well supported and can be huge when required.

My technical knowledge is developing fast and I am keen to expand the studio and home-mixing side of voice-overs.

My learning style is direct and quick which means my jobs are completed super-efficiently.
