My Voice Experience
Who knew reading the morning announcements in junior high could lead to this?
I didn't expect to end up in voice over, but now that I'm here, I can't imagine doing anything else.
In college, I began voicing spots for the athletic department at Cal, which led to my current gig as a reporter at Westwood One in San Francisco. News and program directors heard my voice, asked me to help out with a spot, and two and a half years later, I've voiced spots for tattoo shops, recycling centers, hospitals, and restaurants.
In September 2008, after hearing me on the radio, Stitcher website asked me to voice the "Tech Crunch" podcast for its website and corresponding iPhone and Blackberry app, Stitcher Radio.
And now, I look forward to working with you.
My Training
University of California, Berkeley - B.A. Communications
Voice One, San Francisco - Commercial Spot Classes
Shadow/Metro Broadcasting - Traffic & Sports Reporter
Cal Sports Report - Television show (voice features)
CBS Radio, San Francisco - Intern (Creative Department)
My Studio Equipment
I edit using Goldwave, Garageband, and/or Audacity. The sound in my studio has been tuned by a professional radio engineer and the audio is currently used for radio and internet news, spots, and podcasts.
Additional Skills
I've been an "official" member of the business since 2005, but I've been using my voice for years.
I've worked in television since 2001, was the first female Yell Leader at UC Berkeley during my time as a Bear, and I host Cal's live post game radio show during football season.
Prior to diving into the industry full-time I worked concessions at a movie theater, sold greeting cards, rang up challah and reubens at a jewish deli counter, managed a breakfast/lunch cafe, and poured the goods at a winery in Napa. In other words, I can relate to a lot of different folks.
