Voice Description

My voice has often been referred to as the ideal for telephone, radio and recorded voice over work. My voice has a unique quality sound that can resonate strength, determination and power. It can also be toned down to be soothing to the listener, extremely effective with children and story telling. Because of my interest in drama, I can alter my voice to fit most situations and am flexible to meet the needs of the client.

My Voice Experience

I am new to this field, having worked as a professional clinical therapist for twenty years. In my work, I have utilized my voice to many ways including directly speaking with authority while teaching clients; speaking calmly while empathizing with clients and establishing therapeutic rapport; firmly communicating with acting out teenagers, all with the understanding that the spoken word has special capability to convey meaning beyond the words.

My Training

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work and a Master's of Science Degree in Social Work. I am exploring this line of work due to many friends and co-workers suggestions over the years to use my voice professionally. With the exception of studying and performing drama in high school, I haven't had any formal training.
