My Voice Experience

Currently I work freelance, providing phone based customer service, as well as providing voice-overs for real estate virtual tours. I have 17+ years in radio doing live shows, on stage appearances and various commercial spots. I'm currently working part-time for a local station. My voice has also in appeared in news station promos.

I also served as co-signature voice talent for a rock station in Milwaukee until May 2006 when I was hired full-time.

I consider myself US accent absorbant. I can switch from a regular midwest accent, to a heavy southern drawl, to a full on Wisconsin on a beat.

In my spots I have argued and seduced, encouraged and enticed. More than anything else though, I think I'm best when just being myself. I have this every-girl quality (totally avergage chick) and that plays well with consumers as well as men.

My Training

I have a bachelors degree in Communications from Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky. I've never had any formal voice coaching, however in college, I did work with my drama professor to train myself to lose my southern accent and sound more non-regional. I can control it, to bring it back or lose it quickly depending on the situation.

I performed in a few college plays, but most of my voice work has been in radio.

Additional Skills

I am very easy to work with and take direction well. I'm open for trying anything once, and am willing to experiment with my voice in order to get the desired result. As much as I like doing things in one-take, I also enjoy the experiementation process and seeing what comes out!

In my life I have typically found jobs that required me using my voice. I temp'd in customer service and answering services. Now with recording the virtual tours, it is essential to use a steady tone, but also making a 2 bedroom dump sound just as attractive as a 4 million dollar mansion. "Charming and effecient kitchen" means small, but I can make it sound great!

I have demos for on-air work including spot reads and live shows. I can also provide demos for voicemail recordings. I can promise quick turn around time and high quality final recordings.
