Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I grew up in Jersey so i can do "jersey". :} i have a (natural) mid atlantic accent but i can do anything from the shore to the suburbs to the city. I went to college in nashville (for 5 years:) so I can do Tennessee/southern accent quite well. I am a trained actress so I have a lot of range and experience. I've performed in everything from Tennessee Williams to John Patrick Shanley to Shakespeare to Shaw.

My Voice Experience

Hi --
My first V.O. job was in Seoul, Korea. I was working and traveling around Asia and the Pacific Rim at the time. In 1998, I was teaching English in South Korea. (I was working my tail off in Seoul saving $$ to keep travelling.) The company i worked for asked me to record all their teaching workbooks. They loved my voice/accent. This was a big job - they had workbooks for pre-schoolers through adults. I enjoyed doing it and it was eye-opening - what a lot of work and how fun -- as well as showing me the time and energy required to do V.O. well. I imagine my voice/the CDs that accompany the books are still being used to this day.I like thinking of kids now 12 years later learning to pronounce English and speak it with my voice....
I moved back to NYC in 1999 and got back into acting and the theater. I was asked to audition for a Verizon radio spot in 2003. (One of my acting teachers, Kelly Kimball, recommended me.) I booked it. It was my first audition.
I've done a few radio commercials since then and a long, detailed medical presentation for a drug company in NJ. I formally trained in V.O. and recorded my demo with Marla Kirban in 2004. (I've taken a couple classes at Actors' Connection, too.) I had a baby 2 years ago and I married a man with three kids. We moved to the 'burbs and they all live with us now. My life has changed a lot since trekking in Nepal, diving and teaching on Guam, etc, but this new chapter is great too & brings even more life experience for me to bring to the V.O. work. I hope you will consider hiring me.

I was a teacher for 7 years. I am a mom now but have traveled & lived abroad for years before returning to NYC.
I began acting as a kid. I started directing in 2001.
