Voice Description

I have a warm alto voice with a neutral accent that can be used to produce exceptionally professional-sounding presentations and narrations. It is low and soothing and could also work well for relaxation audios.

My voice can also be fun and up-tempo. It can sound very positive and welcoming, especially over the phone.

My readings can also be dead-serious with an air of command. This would work well for applications requiring spoken safety instructions.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I can do an **actual** Southeast Atlantic Southern accent (not one of those horrible imitations) proper to most parts of Virginia (excepting Norfolk, South Boston and Danville), West Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia, a Scottish accent, Cockney accent, Uppercrust British accent, German accent, French accent, Muscovite Russian accent, Hungarian accent, or no accent at all. All of these are available to you with proper slang, diction and tempo.

My Voice Experience

I have done voiceover work for Novozymes Biologicals' phone system, which included sets for the main greeting, prime branches on their phone tree, and some other functions meant to interface with customers.

I am also working on a project to narrate a sales presentation for an engineering firm's new sanitizing tool for the poultry industry.

My Training

I am a natural. I have not taken formal classes in voice over work. I was, however, very active in the theatrical community for quite a while; I acted, sang and also played an instrument. I have also been a member of a local band that played our own work, not covers -- which is where I got most of my experience recording voice of any kind.

My Studio Equipment

I use my computer to do most of my voiceover work but have access to several local, professional studios for audio requiring more advanced quality. I use SourceForge's "Audacity" software (v.1.2.6) with a corresponding LAME MP3 converter and am happy to explore utilizing its special effects.

Additional Skills

I am an excellent writer and thoroughly understand the power of inflection. I can (and do) write terrific copy and can assist in script and concept development. I can also help to design webpages or presentations using Powerpoint and Publisher, both of which I have in Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 and with which I am fluent.

I have worked in a number of positions as administrative support in professional, corporate environments. Several projects I managed resulted in significant cost savings to my employer. My most recent position involved the management of eight cost centers on a $500K budget. I have experience as well as an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 auditor.
