Kamela Dolinova

Intelligent, Sophisticated, Versatile, Dialects

Voice Description

My voice ranges from a low and hypnotic style to friendly, enthusiastic and articulate for industrials or commercials. I can sound relaxed and casual or precise and mannered. By default and training, my speech is nearly accentless.

I can also vary my voice and accent greatly from character to character as needed in audio books and animation, and can mimic nearly anything I hear.

My Voice Experience

My first real experience in pure voice work was on the podcast radio drama _Second Shift_, where I played a character in an alternate universe where folks sound kind of like the Centauri in _Babylon 5_ (that is, vaguely Eastern European).

I went on to voice a campy spy character in an old-time radio drama, and a mythological Siren on the Mississippi River during World War II, who imitated the voices of people close to the characters. These included a six-year-old girl, a gruff old Southern river man, a mean-as-nails Minnesotan mother, and a sweet Southern debutante.

My Training

I have a BA in Theatre Arts from Drew University, where I studied speech and voice for actors as well as taking voice training for singers.

I also have an MFA in creative writing, which involves more aloud reading than one might imagine.

Since I was a child I have performed in choirs, as a solo singer, and as an actor and director. I have had a side interest in voice over work ever since my little cousin and I started recording programs for an imaginary radio station when I was ten years old. I hosted an actual radio show for most of my college career.
