Voice Description

I speak and sing in a rather low, clear, understandable Alto voice. I'm not much for celebrity impersonations, but I can do regional accents, such as American Southern, Midwest Twang (you betcha!) and of course, the British that we all learned to emulate back in Beatles days. (I'm showing my age aren't I?) I can purr sexily when appropriate and shriek when necessary.

My Voice Experience

California English is my native tongue, but I'm a quick study and can record any language phonetically. I sing and speak in a clear Alto. I've sung in rock bands for decades-- Not that I'm slowing down, but I'm ready to do less screaming and more smooth speaking these days. As a contractor working with 'Miss Cleo', I used to do Tarot readings over the phone for hours several nights a week. I've already done some VO work-- reading weather reports onair in Kona Hawaii and recording radio spots in Las Vegas, Nevada.

My Training

I'm self-taught but maintain a wide-open mind when it comes to being trained in new things. I've always loved to read aloud, to my now-grown kids or anyone else who would listen. I am fairly retired from rocknroll now, showing up for the occasional sit-in gig, but I was an active participant in the entertainment industry for decades. Mostly in rock bands, where I was (due to being to sole female, usually) front and center, introducing songs and band members nightly.

Additional Skills

As mentioned, I love to read aloud. Doing Books-on-Tape would be PERFECT for me, and vice-versa. As an aside, I researched, wrote and moderated a weekly trivia game for America Online for several years, from 1995 through 2003. This entailed being sharp, quick on the draw and personable. Although this didn't use my speaking voice, per se, it did tickle my command of the language.
