Voice Description

I can do many unique voices to suite a project; I can also impersonate Don LaFontaine ("the movie guy"), Casey Kasem, among others.

My voice can go deep and powerful, high and excited, as well as just about any in-between point desired. I can do movie, radio, and TV promotional voice-overs; as well, I can create unique characters if necessary (eg, cartoon characters). I have always had the ability to flex my voice as needed. Unique characters I help create would truly be unique, with my input as well as the direction provided.

In certain cases, my ability to mimic certain known characters or real-life voices may also prove helpful for "spoof" situations.

I have a modest "home studio" consisting of AKG and MXL mics, Fostex hard-disc recorder, Behringer mixer, and several other items (compressors, FX processors, PC recording equipment, etc). A demo CD or MP3 can be provided if requested on short notice.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I am learning Spanish (Latin American) and can convincingly emulate a Mexican or Cuban accent; I can also mimic Australian and British accents. I can sound urban as well.

My Voice Experience

My professional experience is quite limited. However, I have performed voice talent for so-called "pirate" radio (examples available on request), spoof videos, and even instructional videos. I am told that I can convincingly mimic known voice talent such as Don LaFontaine, JJ McKay, and others; even as a solo talent I have the skills to perform and annunciate correctly, clearly communicating the desired message in a pleasant and well accepted voice, even with varying desired qualities (such as excitement, soothing, or anything in between).

As for prior recordings, as mentioned I have little professional experience; however, I can provide samples of my work, which should demonstrate my ability to go further, as well as my dedication even to small-time hobbyist projects. If given the chance, I can assure you I would be even more dedicated to a real project.

My Training

My training consists of nothing more than my personal desire and will to join the field of voice talent. I have no formal training, though I have learned many of the professional techniques from both the Internet, as well as friends who have actually been educated in the field. Voice techniques and practice exercises are no problem. I understand most of the professional techniques used by the professionals, including annunciation and grammatical rules.

My Studio Equipment

Currently, this is the equipment I possess:

- 1 Telex wireless mic & receiver
- 1 Behringer Eurorack 1204 Mixer
- 1 Fostex 4-track hard disc recorder
- 1 Behringer Autocom-Pro compressor
- 1 FX processor (reverb etc)
- 2 Bose 301 Monitors
- 1 HP notebook PC
- 1 Dell notebook PC

Plus many other items, including a couple of USB audio devices, CD/DVD burners, misc. cables and adaptors, etc.

My studio is nothing special however I can produce high-quality recordings with what I have. On a side-note, my voice seems to work particularly well with my expensive AKG mic, when using the right equipment (compression, mixing, and recording) and in the right environment.

My "studio" is in my basement but is set up specifically for this purpose. Again, a demo can be provided on request. You will note a very low noise level and an acoustic environment tailored for my particular voice.

Additional Skills

I also write audio software, and I have a passion for audio (specifically digital audio).

I also have some skills related to recording; I can mic a drum kit, and even run a board responsible for mixing an entire band in real-time. In the past I have done sound reenforcement for live bands, with a wide range of equipment, including larger venues where every drum, amp, and vocal mic is controlled seperately by myself on a large console. Generally some PA voice work is involved in these situations.
