Voice Description

My voice is deeper and younger sounding. I can have a very serious presentation or a fun one. I pride myself on my ability to "get the feel" of the spot as desired by the client. Spots that require acting are no problem for me as well. I have had plenty of experience acting for spots in addition to straight reads. My age range is anywhere from 20 to 40 years old, and I am working on more voices like an older man and a British man.

My Voice Experience

I have done spots that have aired on a number of different radio and television stations, as well as a couple DVD presentations. I very familiar with how the radio and television industries work in regards to commercial production. My radio spots have aired on KKRQ, KXIC, WMT, WHO-AM, KKDM, KMXD, KLYF, KDRB, KVJZ, KXNO, KCCQ, KASI, and KRKQ(which is now KWQW). I have voiced television spots that have aired on KWKB, KDSM, and WHO-TV. I have also done DVD voice over work for Atlas Technologies in Ames, IA.

My Training

Most of my training is "on the job" and consists of my career in radio and television, but I took a couple acting classes in college which I think helped me get to this level. In high school I took a television production course. In my radio career not only have I voiced the spots that I have done, I have produced a majority of them as well. That includes adding sound effects, music, coaching and recording other voices, playing them for the clients, and making any changes that the client requires.

Additional Skills

I am very personable and can relate and adapt to any social situation which, I feel, is important in any commercial spot production. In addition to my voice over experience I am the morning radio host on KCCQ and I am a regular on KASI-AM. I have been in broadcasting for over 5 years, so I have an understanding of modern commercial production.
