My Voice Experience
Having had elocution lessons and a number of years training in classical singing and voice as a Senior Exhibitioner at the Royal College of Music, I've worked as a professional singer and musician since 1990, in a range of styles including MT, Oratorio, Opera and song. My ear is consequently very quick to absorb accents and I respond to direction very well and am easy to work with.
Some of my voice work has included: recording a soundtrack for a TV pilot trailer, performing the part of the Giant in an audio book version of 'Jack and the Beanstalk', multiple poetry presentations, compering and hosting events, recording a role for a cd version of 'Of Mice and Men' and work as an actor, both in short film and theatre.
With Undergraduate and Masters degrees in English Literature, I have a keen sensitivity to the written word.
Voice over work in the past 8 months has included recording Uvi Poznansky's 'A Peek at Bathsheba' and Julian Chitta's 'Peace be with you!:Emperor Constantine' for Audible, with a 3rd audiobook currently in production: 'A Gentleman's Daughter: Her Folly' by Reina M Williams. Poznansky has also asked me to work on another book for her later this year. In addition, I recently supplied the lines for a student animation.
Postgraduate singer at the Royal College of Music, where I received drama and voice training over 3 years. Performer in numerous operas and musicals and plays including with the National Youth Music Theatre, Charming Theatre, The Gatesdene Players, York Opera, The Rebel Chorus, Bampton Opera, Chelsea Players, Co-Opera Co, in a variety of venues including Sadlers Wells, Edinburgh International Festival and Edinburgh Fringe, and in Marbella and elsewhere in Southern Spain.
