Voice Description

The following lists how I can express my voice in a variety of age ranges:

For a young voice, from teens to the twenties, I simply raise the speaking pitch, increase word speed, and add a slight nasality.

For a more mature voice, from twenties to forties, a slightly lower speaking pitch is required, as well as a slightly slower word speed than for teenage.

A middle age voice has even lower pitch characteristics, with perhaps a slight nasality.

And finally, an elderly voice is in the low, “gravelly” voice range, and the word speed has decreased dramatically.

I can speak both Spanish and French, but as second languages, NOT native.

I can do a few accents: Scottish, Cockney London, German, and Italian.

My Voice Experience

My years in military bands exposed me to accents from all over the country, and as a music teacher I developed the ability to use those accents combined with different character voices in order to capture my students' wandering attention. A few examples are listed below:
