Voice Description

First of all, I'm a native Finnish voice talent. Born and raised in Finland, and still living and working here. Very important, because the language is only spoken natively in Finland. The few communities of people in other countries with finnish parents or ancestors have their accent substantially 'contaminated' by their surrounding dominant language. What all this means is that these guys will actually not sound native Finns to us up here in the land of 55.000 lakes and sunny summer nights. Too bad, but that's the way it goes.

What about me? I've made thousands of voice overs for almost all imaginable purposes, like radio and tv commercials, documentary narrations, phone services, radio network imaging, instruction manuals, etc. I'm quite fluent in English, too, but won't pass as a native. Yes, and I admit having done even Swedish voice overs, mainly for IVR, and for clients in Finland. So we're talking about Finlandssvenska with a Finnish accent.

Years of trial and error. It all began when I started making radio commercials and somebody had to do the voice over. With nobody else around I had to jump in. So, it was not something I planned, but now almost two decades later I'm glad I did it. With years of recording and directing myself and many other great professionals I can see - and hear - the project from the both ends of the table.
