Traveling abroad gave J.S. a distinct ability to "mimic" accents. Scottish, Irish, English, Russian, South American as well as Southern United States, Western United States, various East Coast and West Coast regional accents .

My Voice Experience

Almost 20 years. He has won awards as a voice actor, audio engineer/ director and audio producer. J.S. has performed narration for Intel, Compaq, NASA, The Getty Museum, and many others, including the rollout of Quicktime for Apple Computing. He has performed for major ad agency's including Goodby Silverstein, Crispin Porter, McCann Erickson, Riney, Leo Burnett and many others. Commercially, he has been featured on Sprint, Clorox, Round Table, History Channel, Pepsi, McDonalds, Ford, St. Vincent de Paul, The Heart Association, SmithKline, Nestle, Microsoft, Arby's, Siemens, San Diego Visitors Bureau, Vriginia Lottery, dozens of automotive dealerships and hundreds of local, and regional spots. J.S. also perfroms on hold and message for voice mail for everyone from Arby's to the American Medical Association. He has been the voice of talking greeting cards, all the way through to being the voice of a Batman doll, games for Atari, Commodore, Strategic Simulations, Sony, EA, Konami and Koei, and was named "favorite voice-over" for his work as Sweet Tooth in Twisted Metal: Black. He is also featured on Dynasty Warriors, Extermination, Socum: Navy Seals, Bone, Operation, Learning Company, Leap Frog and many others. His awards include Top Ten Producers List 1997 Multimedia Magazine, A Clio, Numerous Addys, Invision Awards, Joeys and many others. J.S. also did v.o. for Gold Rush, a part of the Emmy award winning "10 Days that Changed History". He was featured as the voice of Avdol on 13 episodes of the animae "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure". He performs all of the male voiceover on "Go Bananas", for Nickelodeon. He also does all the male voices on "Big Mean Weenie" and "Heroes" for technotoon. J.S. has also been in voice over casting, talent direction and production. He owns several sound effects and music collections and can produce finished radio spots and t.v. commercials, as well as on-hold and voicemail and industrials.

My Training

Ongoing and extensive. He has performed improvisation for over 25 years, including several guest appearances with Second City. He is also a former stand-up comic. J.S. is also a trained audio and video engineer and maintains an extensive recording facility. He regulalry enjoys peer workouts with other top Bay Area voice actors. J.S. has also written hundreds of radio and t.v. spots, as well as handled script prep and re-writes for projects ranging from Peter Norton's P.C. Guru to recorded museum docent tours. J.S. is on the advisory board to the Art Institute of California's Advertising Degree Program. He is also former San Francisco Bay Area ADDY Awards Chair and is on the Board of Directors for the Bay Area Advertising Relief Committee (BAARC) and J.S. is on the advisory committee and is a contributing writer to Create Magazine.

I am lucky to work in a professional studio with a triple walled 6X9 sound booth, with ADR capabilities. Microphones include Neumann U87, Telefunken U47, Rhode NT1, RCA ribbon, Pearlman custom built Hybrid (ELA 251 soundalike) Mic Pre's include Milenai STT-1, Avalon Gold, Drawmer MX-60, tons of outboard gear and Waves Diamnond plug-ins, Apogee Rosetta AD/DA. Dedicated Duo Windows system for recording. Travel system includes an Apogee Mini-Me, Compaq Windows Computer, RE-20 or Heil PR-40 microphone and personal travel booth. -61 db at -9 average RMS recordings from Hotel room.

Additional software/ hardware allows for mutlitrack recordings and full mixes, including 5.1 surround sound.
