I am the voice guy. All my life, friends and relatives have looked to me as the one to give a speech. I do impressions at parties and various other get-togethers. Five years ago, I took up theatre and have been performing frequently and consecutively in two-to-three productions per year, but my dream has always been to get my voice recorded. I love acting, but my true passion lies in voice acting. I love to do voices, and people tend to light up (or conversely roll their eyes tersely) whenever I do them. Just last year I read aloud the bulk of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on a long bus ride, and people were frankly astonished at the variety of my reading. One moment I would be giving general narration, and the next I would be the wise old Albus Dumbledore lending advice to the young Mr. Potter. My most notable impressions are of Elmo (of Sesame Street fame) and Gollum (of The Lord of the Rings fame). People were initially taken quite aback by them (likely due to the fact that they would not expect such sounds to issue from a nineteen-year-old male's mouth), but in the end they are simply amazed. Last semester of college, my play's director was looking for someone to do baby sounds. Having watched three sisters grow up over the past several years (and given my experience with Elmo and Elmo-like voices), I volunteered. Every person I talked to following the show was in utter disbelief when I told them that I was the one making those adorable cooing sounds. Many still do not believe me. I am Master Joshua David Young I, Esq., the one and only. Two semesters at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia, Double-Majoring in Neuroscience and Theater, Participated in countless summer acting courses, Starred as the Beast in KNS Theatre's coast-wide production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast (role included singing), Provided my voice for backing vocals for the soundtrack of KNS Theatre's Beauty and the Beast, Supporting roles as Stefan, Vavilla, and Hrymin Junior in Theater Emory's production of In the Ravine by Anton Chekhov as part of Watching Chekhov Watching, Provided the voice of Jesus Christ as a voiceover in a segment of the Starving Artists Productions' production of THe Bible: The Complete Word of God Abridged It's got all the bells and whistles AND is soundproof (EDIT) (Housed at the Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Center in Ocean Springs, MS); I also use my iMac with GarageBand. I can play guitar and sing, I play many video games and am therefore very familiar with the characteristics needed to lend my voice in one, I am very good at pacing myself over long periods of time (in reference to big or long projects), I work well under pressure, and I always meet my deadlines.
