Voice Description
I am able to effectively use a variety of tones for voice work. Ranging from baritone and serious, to tenor and jovial. I am convinced that how one says something has a far greater impact than the words themselves and have expanded my abilities over the years accordingly.
My natural dialect is Northern Virginian, allowing me to settle into a southern accent role as well as poke fun as a fast and long-talking politican. Being raised near Washington, DC has also given my voice a subtle "everyman" quality.

My Voice Experience
While most kids were pretending to save the universe, or hit the game-winning homer in the 9th I was hitting the air waves on a cheap toy radio you can put your voice on. Spinning records and bringing "the listeners" up to date on what important events were going on in the life of an 8 year old VA kid.
My first real on-air gig came in August of 2005, co-hosting a political talk show called, "Voice of Reason" on WGMU (since cancelled). For that station I also had a weekly show playing music from my personal collection, and being all around entertaining. The PD at the station convinced me I should keep my options open for voice-over work, and since he seems like a smart guy I will do just that.
Now I've moved to Seattle and I can't wait to get back into the biz! If I could do it, you wouldn't be able to turn the dial without hearing my voice on a commercial or program. Not to mention cartoons and your credit card companies "hold" presentation. Others may have more experience than me, but none have more enthusiasm or dedication to success in than yours truly.
My Training
My certification came in August 2005 through the Broadcast Training Network. This is a work-based training program, putting me inside a station and being educated by top professionals. I was personally tutored by the operations manager of a major news outlet in VA, and his staff provided un-coerced insight into the field.

Additional Skills
One of the best aspects of a good voice (especially for advertising) is confidence. You can either fake it, which we all do sometimes, or you can have it! As a kid I went through my share of jobs in all kinds of industries: car repair, retail outlets, restaurants and fast food, bill collection, hotel desk, door-to-door sales, phone sales, appointment sales, and more if you can believe it. I can speak with greater confidence about people/products in such industries than most individuals my age you can find.
