My Voice Experience

You may know me as the voice of the claymation Dan The Chameleon from the Hubba Bubba Max commercial. I was chosen from a casting that included all of North America. And when the writer flew up from Chicago to Toronto to record me, he said I was the only person that auditioned who sounded like a real person who genuinely liked the product and was enthusiastic to talk about it. Also, sometime later I was in Bristol, England shooting a commercial with Oscar-winning Aardman Animation (I'm a Copywriter and was shooing a commercial I wrote). I asked them about the chameleon commercial, which they'd animated, and the person who'd worked on it said it had been a particularly fun spot to animate because the voice was so good.

On my own time, I've made short films doing the voice of a beaver puppet who moves to the city, and one doing the voice of a towel who writes a love song for a girl.

My Training

I did Jodi Pape's voice acting class at ACTRA.

I'm a graduate of the esteemed Second City Conservatory Program, a year-long improv program that you have to audition for after you've taken all their other levels. I've also had a team with TheatreSports. A TheatreSports judge once told me that I did the best improvised rap he'd ever seen.

My Studio Equipment

At home I have an AKG Perception 120 Mic and MacBook with GarageBand.

I have access to a professional studio with an ISDN line.

Additional Skills

I've been a professional, award-winning Copywriter for many years, so I "get" commercials. I know what you're going for, what's important to you, and I'll make sure you get it.

I play guitar and write songs, so I have a natural musical sense for whenever that's useful.

I have extensive improv training and experience, so I can bring fresh words and ideas to any script, making it funnier than perhaps you even imagined.

I've had my own comedy troupe, I do stand-up comedy, I host award shows and I make comedy videos for my YouTube page.
