It all began with being selected from 65 candidates for a radio disc jockey position when I was a junior in high school.
After several years in radio as on-air talent and producer of commercials, PSAs, and promos I took those natural talents into television and eventually worked for several years for GE Broadcasting in Nashville, Tennessee, as promotion director utilizing my talent extensively for promos and commercials including on-camera talent.
I was the voice of Camping World in their retail stores. Each month I would record a series of announcements to be broadcast in their retail outlets promoting products and services.
My experience in voice work was developed while in the employment of radio and TV stations. My first program director told me I had a God-given talent and mentored me on the proper path from the beginning.
On three occasions I was assigned to ABC TV network projects in Hollywood to develop promotional material by doing on camera interviews and promotion spots with stars and major personalities.
I have been involved in modeling and on-camera presentations. I've been very active over the years as Lector in my church having served at half a dozen parishes as I've moved around the country.
I've also performed in stage productions such as Blythe Spirit, Picnic, and Dial M for Murder, in all of which I co-starred.
I have set up studios in my Tampa Bay condo and my second home on the island of Barbados in the Caribbean. I travel back and forth. My equipment includes a multi-pattern USB studio condenser mic connected to a state-of-the-art custom built computer. With this equipment I can deliver first class voice audio anywhere in the world via the Internet.
When I was offered the promotion director position with GE Broadcasting in Nashville a deal had been struck with one of the local public broadcast TV stations to swap channels. Their location on the dial was stronger and would give us a better position in the ADI (Area of Dominate Influence). I was in full charge of all on-air promotion which I wrote and produced and occasionally appeared on-camera in promo spots. On the night of the channel swap involving channels 2 and 6 our audience rating was 95% of the market.
Animated TV station IDs were my idea in the Nashville market and I was the first to produce them. Our station was later the recipient of a Diamond Award from our advertising federation for that series of IDs which I created.
