Voice Description

I am a classically trained broadcast professional and can do any voice for any situation in both English (my second language) and Spanish (my first language). I have appeared as an actor in movies (Deadly Surrender, Midas Touch) and on stage in regional theatre. My vocal range includes anything from deep and husky for sexy, hard-selling commercials to commanding and authoritative for narrations, presentations and industrial voice-overs to funny or vulnerable for lighter and/or more emotional pieces. My Latino accent when speaking English is notable but does not interfere with my being understood because I speak the language clearly and with proper pronounciation and enunciation. In Spanish I speak very clearly in Castillian unless otherwise directed with no discernable accent.

My Voice Experience

My twenty-six years of communications experience has been mostly in televison and radio broadcasting; as a TV news anchor and reporter for the TeleFutura/Univision affiliate station in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Telemundo affiliate station in Hartford, Connecticut. As an announcer/ air personality I co-hosted the Number One Spanish radio morning drive show in the Springfield-Holyoke, Massachusetts, market, even winning the Number One Overall category for all of New England. I created different characters and used a variety of voices to entertain listeners. I also hosted local and regional concerts and festivals and spent time as a presenter at Latino concerts and events at Madison Square Garden and other top venues, introducing such stars as Marc Anthony and Olga Tanon; I presented Tito Puente in his last major public appearance with Celia Cruz at Bushnell memorial Auditorium in Hartford, Connecticut, before his death and had the honor of accompanying Celia Cruz to and dancing with her at a Connecticut Public Television live pledge night event that raised more revenue (at that time) than any other recent local pledge event.

My Training

My extensive voice over training came as part of my formal performance education at such prestigious institutions as Center for the Media Arts in New York City and the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in Florida and the former Miami Technical School. This formal training buttressed my four years at the Venivision Network in my native Caracas, Venezuela, where I served as an Associate Producer for the world renowned program, "Sabado Sensacional," and a Promotions Talent for the Network.
