My jazz vocal quality has been compared to that of Harry Connick Jr., but my pop/alternative voice has been compared to John Mayor and Coldplay's Chris Martin. I enjoy performing and recording a wide range of musical genres including, but not limited to, jazz, classical, pop, alternative, rock, and electronic.

My Voice Experience

I've been singing in audition choirs and groups since I was 5. When I was a senior in high school, I won the Washington state classical solo and ensemble competition. That same year I was awarded a full ride scholarship to the University of Miami to study in their prestigeous Vocal Jazz and Studio Music program. While studying there, I frequently was hired to sing backup on recordings and jingles for various companies as well as enlisted as a lead singer for parties and functions.

My Training

I've received private vocal coaching for 9 years in classical and jazz vocal performance. While growing up, I sang with the Columbia Boys Choir and later, the Columbia Men's Ensemble. While in Inglemoor High School, I sang with the 10 person vocal jazz ensemble my three years there. At the University of Miami, as a sophomore, I sang with 3 graduate vocal jazz majors in Miami's elite singing group "Extensions." Although singing frequently now, I missed a chunk of performing time while I played "dodge the roadside bombs" while serving a tour in Iraq with the Marine Corps

Additional Skills

In addition to singing, I've got 11 years of acoustic guitar playing under my belt, can play simple rock piano, and can jam on the harmonica. I also did a little stint in a dance studio learning a bit of tap for my lead role in the musical "Crazy for you." While at Inglemoor highschool, I was the romantic lead in both "Crazy for You" and "Anything Goes," besting over 40 seniors for the part while just a sophomore.
