I studied music recording at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and found out my voice sounded pretty good via a microphone. So next to my daily job of recording engineer and producer I did several voice-over jobs.
A few years a job interview for engineer at a regional radiostation led to a parallel career as newscaster incl. the traffic news on all national and regional radiostation. Next to that I presented some time for the national classical music station Radio4. As a voice-over I did commercials for a.o. De Telegraaf (national newspaper), Pickwick Tea and BK (kitchen accessories) and corporate videos.
Formal education: Music Recording and production at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and Philosophy of Art and Culture at the University of Amsterdam. So I know a little about music, art and difficult, meaningful texts which helps me a lot in my work as a voice-over.
I did several voice-over workshops a.o. with Jaap Brand and Johan Wolder.
Teaching Dutch to foreigners was a training for me as well and made me extra aware of intonation, pronunciation, rhythm and meaning in spoken language.
ProTools Studio (+ lots of useful plugins), Shure Sm7b, AKG C451, Unidyne 545, Aphex 651 "expressor", Mogami cabling, Unity Audio + Avantone + Beyerdynamic monitoring.
As an experienced engineer/producer/mixer I am a keen editor in ProTools and can deliver high quality voice-over recordings.
If the client prefers to attend a session, a large studio is available (large control room with videoscreen, 5.1 monitoring and iconic microphones incl. a.o. Neumann U47's and M49's)
