Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
My natural speaking voice has a slight New England drag to it, which can either be removed or amped up to ridiculous extremes. I've got a bunch of character voices, the super tough-guy blow-up-the-world hero is one of my favorites (think the guy who always has the horrible one liners or says 'Oh my God' while taking off his sunglasses), along with the nerd with a retainer and the 1920's style old time radio announcer. For accents, I've got Irish, Russian, and English; as well as very character-ey French and German. I also do a great Schwarzenegger and a really solid Chris Walken.
My Voice Experience
People always notice my voice first when they meet me. Not my eyes, or hair, or anything else, it's always, "Hey, good to meet you - anyone every tell you, you should do radio, man!" It's cool, but its kind of annoying after a while.
I started out small, doing a number of radio spots for my local station back home. One of my favorite bits to this day was for the School St. Garage, which was a parody of the Fat Albert theme - sufficed to say, I got to go "HEY HEY HEY" a LOT.
In college, I did a number of narrations for student films, mock ad campaigns, and WERS (Emerson College Radio). I also worked with a now nationally touring poetry group (the Gringo Choir) doing voice overs for their show, "A Taste of the Atlantic" and recorded an album with an a capella group.
My Training
I received a BA in Theater from Emerson College in May 2009, but I also studied recording and voice work while attending. I learned the Linklater method of voice acting, and have since added my own personal touches to her time-tested techniques.
My Studio Equipment
I have minimal equipment of my own at the moment, but I do have friends with professional-grade studios in their homes, and I am available to come to a studio anywhere in the greater Los Angeles area.
Additional Skills
I'm a classically trained baritone, a vocal percussionist (or 'beatboxer' as the cool kids call it), and I make great robot and explosion sound effects, kind of like the guy from Police Academy.
