My Voice Experience
Known on the air as the Singing DJ, Jonny started his broadcasting career in college radio as a golden oldies announcer and continued working in the industry as a swing announcer, producer and voice-over talent for other radio stations. Listeners who have tuned in may recall hearing Johnny Cash's, "Johnny Yuma The Rebel" played as the opening theme song at the start of the program. Apart from spending time on the airways, he continued his passion for music as an entertainer; performing several shows as a wedding singer, tribute artist, barbershop singer and theater actor. He performed in Toronto theaters playing a double role in the Broadway musical, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" as Napthali, one of Joseph's many brothers and in the starring role as Pharaoh. Some of the many venues he had performed over the years were in the Montreal area which included Le Medley, Brasserie Des Rapides, Marche Aux Puces St.Martin Laval, various Legion Halls, St. Laurent Street Fest, Billiard Le Skratch in the West Island and Laval, The Gault Estate at Lac Hertel, The Oscar Peterson Hall and The Bell Center, home of the Habs. He also performed in the Toronto area at City Hall's Nathan Phillips Square, Mississauga's Living Arts Center, Collingwood Elvis Festival, Eddie Bush Arena, Newmarket Theater, Vaughan City Playhouse and Casino Rama to name a few. His upcoming shows were mentioned in the English and French media newspapers including The Montreal Mirror (dubbed as "Montreal's Asian Elvis" from the August 2000 issue), La Presse, Derniere Heure magazine and Toronto's Balita newspaper. A few of his performances were sponsored and advertised by one of the major market radio stations in the city. He continues to write songs while working on other projects and someday plans to make a comeback...

Additional Skills
Captivating the listening audience is key. Producing a quality ad requires research, creativity and some risks. Keeping the audience's perspective and interests in mind are some of the key factors to focus on when producing a quality ad. You need to grab their attention and sell your idea, product and service within a set period of time. Through the magic of editing and the talent's ability to use his/her voice in a creative way requires the artistic 'know how' and organized planning.
Having worked in the radio industry, I've always kept the listening audience in mind. Radio personality means exactly that, 'personality'. Aside from informing your listening audience, there's an element of entertainment and humor involved to appeal to listeners of all ages. Having worked in market research in the past in Toronto, clients want to know if their products and services are successfully reaching out to YOU the consumer through effective advertising.
