I've been doing voice over for over 6 years now and it's ranged from tv shows and movie trailers to video game trailers and tv spots to toy commercials.
I've done work with Warner brothers for The OC and Veronica Mars. This was episodic style, very similar to "Next On's" but they would run throughout the week. (It's time to move on...and go their separate ways... but one person, won't let go... On the Next OC).
I've done a lot of work through Ayzenberg Group - an advertising agency where I was selected to be the voice talent on MANY different video game trailers and commercials including titles such as - Resident Evil 5 (background/characters), Destroy All Humans (Main Narrator), Monster Hunter Tri (Opening Narrator), Super Scribblenauts (Main Announcer/Narrator) and have done toy spots as well for Mattel jobs like their new series of R/C racers.
I've also read pitches and presentations of all types and done videos where I play several characters. For example, I did a video where fighter pilots are all moving into a location and coordinating together. I played 3 different fighter pilots in this video by tweaking my voice a little (while recording and in post).
I spent two years as a video production major at the Art Institute of California where I left to become a very successful editor in the video game industry. Throughout my years as editor, I began working with many talented voice actors such as Jim Cummings (famous voice talent - currently Winnie the Pooh) and Peter Cullen (the voice of Optimus Prime from the Transformers). I would ask tips during sessions and study their habits. I slowly started doing my own temp VO tracks for spots until next thing you know - client started choosing me over the hired talent and I started gaining voice over experience.
I now have enough work and experience under my belt (taking direction from creative directors and producers, recording long sessions, etc) that I am now pursuing work in a more full-time direction.
I have a home studio and a work studio.
My home studio includes a Pro Tools LE setup and a large variety of microphones and musical instruments. I'm also a long time musician and have many guitars (Danelectro 56 Pro, Ibanez GSA60, a Martin CF 000CXE) and amps. I have quiet areas in the house and am preparing a sound booth installation and ISDN line for further voice over recording.
Also, being a long time editor I'm very technically savvy with audio bit rates, compressions, etc.
I've been on both sides of this spectrum - client side and talent side. I know what clients are looking for with minimal direction and can deliver without problem. Being a long time editor helps me understand the aspects of recording voice over for a video piece especially. Keeping timing and pacing solid are very key elements and I feel I can nail those things for your projects!
