Voice Description

My voice has been described as smooth, energetic, friendly and conversational. I am equally at home performing "soft-sell" emotional-appeal commercial reads, or "hard-sell" speed reads. I can give your either the typical "announcer-style" read, or something closer to a one-on-one conversation, depending on your needs. I'm not a "use the first take" kind of talent - I take pride in making sure my performance is the best it can be, every time. I'm also happy to take any and all direction, and to work with you to achieve mutually satisfying results.

My Voice Experience

Picture a six year old boy with long blonde hair and big green eyes, sitting in his living room with headphones on, in front of his dad's turntable, running his own pretend radio show. Yep. That was me. Luckily I've actually been able to DO the job I've been dreaming of since I was small. I've got over ten years in radio and television broadcasting, production and voiceover experience. I am currently the mid-day host with CHTN in Charlottetown, PEI, Canada where my commercial reads are constantly in demand by our clients. I've been freelancing with local television production companies, and I have done telephone on hold messaging work for everything from car dealerships to our local performing arts center. I am also a creative and knowledgeable producer - I own a small recording studio and am willing to utilize my production skills to "jazz up" the voicework I do for you, if required. Let's talk!

My Training

I am a graduate with honours from the "school of real life" - all of my voice skills have been learned in a hands-on environment, beginning with college radio, then moving straight to a commercial radio morning show. When in comes to my voice work, I've always done what comes naturally - it's served me well so far!
