Voice Description

My voice is very versatile, and can fit well for almost any project. I can range from a deep, powerful voice (think Sunday! SUNDAY!! SUNDAY!!!) to a calm, warm, soothing one (think NPR.) I specialize in listening carefully to what the client wants, and altering my presentation to fit that need. Whatever the tone-- serious, light-hearted, smooth, edgy... I'll match it.

My Voice Experience

COMMERCIALS... VIDEO VOICEOVERS... CORPORATE TRAINING TAPES... ON-HOLD MESSAGES... I've done a lot. I first began my career in radio while still in high school in the late 1980s, so I have about 20 years of experience from which to draw. I've provided voiceovers for thousands of commercials over the years, not only using my "regular" voice, but many character voices as well (ranging from Don Pardo... to Katherine Hepburn... Marge Simpson... a cockroach... and beyond.)

Just a few of other my experiences:
I was the voice behind the made-for-TV special "Ka-Ching! Break" in 2007.
I've been the on-hold message voice for ActionQuick Corporation since 2000.
I provided the training tape voiceovers for The Trane Company in 1993.

My Training

I spent 5 good years pursuing a communications degree at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee; at the same time, I worked full-time in radio. Eventually life took over, without the collegiate degree.

I'm a graduate of CSB (Connecticut School of Broadcasting), and by virtue of that, I have lifetime access to the latest technologies and techniques being used in the voiceover world. My most recent workshop regarding voiceovers was in June 2008 with Steve Bryant (former QVC host and talk radio expert.)

In addition to my radio and TV experience, I've also been an actor since I was very young. I studied under Sally Welch and Abigail Crabtree in Nashville, Tennessee.

My Studio Equipment

I use Adobe Audition 2.0 as my recording/editing system. My microphone is an Electro-Voice RE20. I also have an AutoComp Pro XL Audio Interactive Dynamics Processor.

Additional Skills

In addition to providing voiceovers, my copywriting skills are well-honed. I am able to provide dry reads or finished productions. I have access to a large library of sound effects and background music to use in your project.
