My Voice Experience
I've worked with a variety of equipment, most recently the an AT2020, which I enjoyed so much that I've purchased one for my home.
My favorite voice experience paired my fascination with this medium and my love of classical theatre- I was hired to play a role in a production of The Tempest, and one component of my job performance was a series of recordings for a multimedia interpretation of the storm scene which opens the play. Hearing "BOATSWAIN!" bellow and roll through the theatre every night, breaking over the audience like a wave, rattling with the thunder track all the way back to the green room- that was particularly thrilling.
My Training
I earned my BFA in Theatre from West Virginia University. I've trained under a variety of teachers, in a variety of fields: major acting influences include Uta Hagen, Strasberg, Michael Chekhov, Cicely Berry, Patsy Rodenburg, and Tadashi Suzuki. Notable teachers in Los Angeles include Eric Kind, Danielle Aufiero, John Farmanesh-Bocca (Grotowski techniques), Louis Scheeder (Theatre Chair at NYU), Michael Donovan, Chris Game (of the Elephant Theatre Co.), and Christal Karge.
My vocal instruction came primarily from Laura Hitt, of Boston Rep; with a special focus on dialect specificity and the International Phonetic Alphabet. I've taken VO classes with David Lawrence.
My Studio Equipment
AT-2020 USB, running with a pop-mask and some room muffling on a MacBook Pro with Garage Band.

I direct the Shakespeare Project at the Los Angeles Theatre Ensemble, where I am continually working with actors on the vocal aspects of performance.
