Voice Description

I'm the guy that you can tell from hearing, has been a lot of places and done a lot of things, but is approachable and friendly. I can be a wiseguy among friends, but not to the point where people are insulted or turned off.

My "sound" has been described as a mashup between Don LaFontaine, Gary Owen and Sam Elliot.

For commercial work I can keep it light but get the point across. The blue collar, "guy next door" type is a specialty.

I've done characters and characterizations, so don't be afraid to ask me if you need something special or if a character needs to sound more "New Yawk".

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

After living in Germany for six years and traveling extensively on the continent, I can do character voices, such as a German or French guy in such a way that a listener can understand the message. As a child, I was cared for by immigrant Grandparents so that both parents could work. This experience gave me a storehouse of accents which can be called up for your project.

I natively speak unaccented English.

My Training

I graduated from the Defense Information School (DINFOS) which is where military broadcasters are trained.

I've also attended Bettye Zoller's workshops on the business of voiceover work.

Dan O'Day's voiceover seminars with Nancy Wolfson and David Lawrence.

My Studio Equipment

I have a dedicated studio with iMac computers to do digital production and a Behringer 8 channel stereo mixer. For software, it's Pro Tools 8 with Source Connect. There's a collection of Shure mikes and a Rode NTG-2 for getting the right sound that absolutely matches your project's needs. Of course, all recordings are done in an acoustically isolated room.
