Voice Description

For over 25 years, John was a professional broadcaster in and around the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. His voice was heard coast-to-coast over WCCO radio, and was a show host for the largest night time radio audience in the nation. At one time, John was heard on over 384 radio stations as a newscaster.

During his years as a broadcaster, John set up his own production company called Dial Communications. This company, set up in 1969, was responsible for producing sound tracks for many of the nation’s largest companies during the time when audio visual slide presentations were the state of the art media.

It was in 1976, that John was contracted to produce the entire King James New Testament, and The Psalms and Proverbs in dramatic format, with the use of superbly selected music, special sound effects, and many professional voices, including his voice. They were marketed throughout the entire English speaking world, with well over one half million sets sold.

During the early ‘70s and into the early ‘80s, John had a call placed on his life to start a high-powered UHF Family Christian television station in the Twin Cities. This station, after going through several changes in ownership, and millions of dollars exchanged, is today Fox Channel 29.

Today, documentaries, and training or "How To" Voice-Over programs seem to be of high interest.

My Voice Experience

John has done voice-over presentations for such companies as General Mills, 3M Co., Cirrus Design Airplane Corp, Radisson Hotels, and a host of other regional and national companies. He even did tag announcements for a current vice-president of these United States.

It has been said the John has a warm and friendly voice, along with a smooth, distinctive, articulate and professional handling of documentaries.

On occasion, John has created a couple of character voices such as a "hey seed, a village idiot or perhaps an old geezer"

My Training

With a BA degree in broadcasting, and volunteer work as the "Chief Announcer" for a campus radio station, John went on to serve mainly as an "afternoon drive" radio announcer for a host of radio stations in the upper mid west. He has been an on-camera commercial host as well as a television weatherman.

His professional broadcast voice studio, along with a broadcast microphone, voice processor, and audio/video computer editing facilities (along with John's willingness) can and will be able to produce a final finished product for you, and Thanks.

My Studio Equipment

Having been an audio engineer, and soundtrack producer for most of his adult career, John is "right at home" as a production specialist. Currently, the studio utilizes A Macintosh G-5 computer, with high-speed internet. Music libraries and selected sound effects are available.
