Voice Description

A deep, clear, resonant broadcast voice is my natural speaking voice. Additionally, I assume the personality of multiple characters. My most sought after voice is my baratone bullfrog sounding voice. Plus, I also fashion a country voice, pirate, DJ, British, regular conversational, surfer dude and a spanglish voice or one with a thick Latin accent.

My Voice Experience

I have been actively working in the voiceover industry for over 20 years. My experience includes mostly commercials and infomercials for TV and radio. Beyond mass media, I have performed voice for a multitude of documentaries and videos. More recently, in the last few years, I have penetrated the website, animation and video game markets. My biggest account is Mountain State University. They have employed my voice since 1989 and I am considered the voice for the University.

My Training

I went to college for broadcasting and became a student teacher at FSU back in the late 1980's. The University TV and Radio stations I called home back then as that is where I spent the majority of my time. A career in radio I embarked upon after graduating with my BA Degree. I worked in small radio stations in West Virginia and Ohio and then moved on to an Audio Video production company in Southern Ohio. This is where I blossomed. I had the best coach I had ever had. He also owned the company. It took him to make me realize that my booming DJ radio voice was only one of a few voices that I can feature. He taught me the art of speaking conversationally without sounding forced or contrived. He molded me to sound convincing and believeable. To him I owe my whole career.

Additional Skills

Animation, website voices and video game productions I stumbled into by accident. I started working with a webmaster in Orlando a few years ago now and he turned me on to the fact that TV and Radio is only one facet to voice opportunties. He started using my different voices for the animation he was rendering. That evolved into video games, cartoon characters and avatars for web sites. He soon found out that I am more of a creative script writer than he is. Now I write all of his scripts for his own productions and for those of his clients.
